STEEL & LEATHER SLING CHAIR

The sling chair is a design archetype with a distinguished history. From the butterfly chair to the Barcelona chair, the form has been interpreted by some of the greatest designers of the 20th century. This custom version brings that lineage into the present: a welded black steel frame with hand-stitched leather seat and solid tigerwood armrests.

The steel frame was MIG welded, ground smooth at all joints, and chemically finished with a blackening agent to achieve rich black color with depth and character. The leather seat is hand-stitched with a saddle stitch using waxed thread, a technique that is significantly stronger than machine stitching and produces a visible, decorative seam detail. The tigerwood armrests, named for their bold striped figure, were hand shaped and finished with a natural oil.

This chair is as comfortable as it is beautiful. The sling seat provides natural support that conforms to the body, and the tigerwood armrests are smooth and warm to the touch. Available in a range of leather colors and wood species for the armrests. A genuine heirloom piece.
