FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It starts with a conversation. We discuss your vision, the space, your material preferences, and your functional needs. From there, we put together a rough estimate and project timeline. Once approved, we hand-select your materials, build your piece in our Oklahoma City workshop, and deliver and install it ourselves. You'll receive photos throughout the build so you can see your piece coming to life. The full process, from first contact to delivery, typically takes 6 to 12 weeks depending on the complexity of the piece.
Pricing varies significantly depending on the size, materials, and complexity of the piece. As a general guide, custom furniture pieces start around $2,500 to $3,000 for smaller items like nightstands and side tables, while larger statement pieces like dining tables, conference tables, and built-in cabinetry typically range from $5,000 to $10,000 or more. Commercial projects are quoted individually. Every project starts with a free consultation and estimate. Reach out and we'll get you a number quickly.
We work primarily with domestic hardwoods: white oak, red oak, walnut, maple, sapele, and cherry are our most requested species. We hand-select every board specifically for your build, looking for the right grain pattern, color consistency, and structural character for the piece.
Absolutely! We prefer it! Whether you have a detailed sketch, a Pinterest board, a photo of something you saw in a magazine, or just a vague sense of what you want, we can work with it. Our design consultation process is collaborative: we listen, ask the right questions, and translate your vision into a buildable plan. You don't need to be a designer to get exactly what you want.
Yes! Repair, restoration, and refinishing are among our core services. Whether you have a family heirloom that needs structural repair, a vintage piece that needs stripping and refinishing, or a modern piece with damage to its surface, we can assess it and bring it back to life. Reach out with photos and a description of the damage and we'll let you know if it's something we can help with.
Yes, and we love it. A significant portion of our work comes through interior designers who need a reliable, high-quality fabrication partner for their residential and commercial projects. We're comfortable working from design drawings, mood boards, and specification sheets, and we communicate clearly throughout the build process to keep your project on schedule. If you're a designer interested in working together, please reach out directly.
We provide white-glove delivery and professional installation throughout the State of Oklahoma, including but not limited to the OKC Metro, Edmond, Norman, Yukon, Midwest City, Moore, and surrounding communities. Every delivery includes placement, leveling, and a care guide walkthrough.
Most of our pieces are finished with a professional-grade lacquer finish. For lacquered pieces, wipe with a slightly damp cloth with the grain and dry immediately, avoid harsh chemical cleaners and specifically anything containing silicone! For oil-finished pieces, occasional re-oiling with a furniture-appropriate oil will keep the surface nourished and protected. Avoid placing hot items directly on wood surfaces and use coasters on all wood tabletops. We'll walk you through specific care instructions for your piece at delivery.
The easiest way to get started is to fill out our quote request form or send us an email at Matt@MatulisWorks.com. You can also call or text us at 405.651.4892. Tell us what you're looking for, the space it's going in, and any design inspiration you have. We'll follow up quickly to schedule a free consultation.
Yes. Custom metal fabrication is a core part of what we do. Many of our pieces combine wood and metal, and we're equally comfortable working in steel alone. If you have a project that involves welded steel, metal finishing, or mixed-material construction, we'd love to hear about it.
